Haiku: Sometimes Spring

Summertime
ashes falling
fire on the mountain

Autumn leaves drift
and tumble
down the canyon

Winter wonderland
slip on unexpected ice
break a leg

Now the warming days
plums blossom
hope and fear arrive together
on the breeze

Sometimes spring can
really hang you up
the most

Stefan Graves has worked as a stonemason all his life pondering the lightness of words and weight of the pen, stone by stone. He lives and works in the mountains above Corralitos, CA with his partner, son, two dogs and a cat.
