This was my first writing course ever. I learned so much in a short period of time. Not only did it help me with my writing skills, it also helped me become a more discerning reader. I also like the diversity of class participants. They all brought a unique perspective and provided helpful feedback throughout the course. I highly recommend taking a course. It’s fun!

Fantastic! It was exactly what I was looking for as an intro to horror. Julie is an engaged, generous, and enthusiastic teacher. She loves horror and wants to share this love and knowledge. I had no idea what a broad category horror is. I think many people would be surprised.

Great course! I’m totally new to writing fiction (started just 2 weeks with a friend before this course). Julie is a passionate teacher and great writing editor/critic – her feedback on each scene we turned in really helped to see where sentences could change or scenes could be improved with oomph and feeling. She’s attentive and helped me to push through writing blocks and fears about being inexperienced.
