Bryn Gribben
Bryn Gribben is a poet and essayist living in Seattle, Washington, with two cats and a love song of a partner. Hailing from Kansas, Gribben holds a master’s degree in Cultural Studies and Women’s Studies from Kansas State University and a PhD in Victorian literature from the University of Washington. She was an assistant professor of British literature at Northwest Missouri State and the co-editor of fiction for the Laurel Review before returning to Seattle to teach composition, creative nonfiction, and literature at Seattle University for fifteen years. Tilde nominated her essay “Cabin” for a 2019 Pushcart Prize, and her essay “What to Save” was a finalist for the 2021 Creative Nonfiction Porch Prize. After publishing her first book, Amplified Heart: An Emotional Discography in 2022, Bryn left to work in antiques and wrote The Patron Saints of Stuff, a nonfiction essay collection about her time there.
